Fundraising Committee – Coordinates two main annual events (Pledge Drive and Auction) to raise money for the Options Budget. This committee also oversees some on-going smaller fundraising projects as well. Contact: Meg Jones.
Parent Partnership Committee – Works to promote and support parent involvement. Coordinates parent education nights. Assesses levels of parent involvement in the classrooms. Operates the mentor program. Visit the Parent Partnership page for more information. Contact: Thaddeus Rice.
Options Design for Learning Committee – Working on creating the third version of the Options Design for Learning (ODL). The ODL is a document that is created every 3-5 years that reflects the priorities and interests of our community, and is a road map in a sense, that helps us to realize and express the philosophy of Options at Lincoln as described in our school’s handbook. We plan on meeting every fourth Tuesday evening of the month at 7:15 pm in the library when council resumes in the fall. Join us! See the download section for ODL II pdf file. Contact: John Tanasse.
Garden Work Group/Committee – Coordinates care and feeding of the garden and greenhouse. Plans activities for classes. Organizes work parties. Works with interns. Helps to carry out the Garden Strategic Plan that has been completed for the garden. Visit the Garden page for more information. Please Note: We are currently in the process of creating the new OCC position of Garden Committee Chair. External Affairs Committee – Keeps parents informed about current education issues at the federal, state and local levels. Organizes responses to issues affecting our children’s education. Attends bimonthly School Board Meetings. Contact: Marlon Williams.
Social and Appreciation Committee – Plans social and community building events; including the winter dance, the school camp out and graduation, teacher appreciation week and Arts Walk. Contact: Barbara Parker or Rene Doran.
Enrollment Committee – Organize Parent Information Nights and Lincoln lottery. Monitors and evaluates enrollment policies. Contact: Alexandra Asbury. Visit the enrollment page for more information.
Communications Committee – Publishes the Opus monthly newsletter, Lincoln School Directory and Parent Handbook. Manages the Lincoln websites. Visit the Communications page for more information. Contacts: Julie Slone or Kenna Canaan.
Early Release Committee – Organizes activities during Early Release. Contact: Addie Spencer or Rob Honan.
Resource Committee – Distributes surveys and assembles Resource Directory. Contact: Alexis Sarah.
PLEASE NOTE: Our hope is that you find a volunteer position at Lincoln that is a good fit for you and that you enjoy. If you are undecided, the areas where more volunteers are always needed are: In the Classroom, Fundraising Committee (Auction help specifically), Parent Partnership Committtee and the Garden Work Group. |
